H₂O, as it says in the title, is a piece inspired by water; not only by the sound of water, but also the different states and forms of water, which vaguely divide the piece into 4 different sections: ice, liquid, drops, and steam. There are 2 parts of electronic in this work. Most of them are prerecorded and the rest is done live by the musicians through microphones with some transformation.
In this piece, the instrumental parts were written after the electronic parts. Thus, they are shaped according to the possible transformation of sound, which inspire the writing for instruments. In most part of this piece, the shapes of sounds correspond to the shapes of water as an image. Therefore, we have the block chords representing the solid ice, the gliding figures like the flow of water, sustaining harmonic as the steam etc…

H₂O, comme le titre l’indique, est une pièce inspirée par l’eau. Non seulement par le bruit de l’eau, mais aussi les différents états et formes de l’eau, qui divisent alors vaguement la pièce en quatres sections différentes: l’eau glacée, liquide, en gouttes, et la vapeur. Il y a deux parties électroniques dans cette œuvre. La plupart ont été pré-enregistrées mais le reste est joué en direct par les musiciens et diffusé par les micros avec une certaine transformation.
Pour cette pièce, les parties instrumentales ont été écrites après les parties électroniques. Ainsi elles dépendent de l’éventuelle transformation du son par ordinateur, qui inspire à son tour l’écriture instrumentale. La forme de la pièce, des sons correspond à la forme de l’eau comme une image: des accords comme des blocs représentant la glace solide, les passages glissando comme l’eau fluide, les harmonique suspendu comme la vapeur etc…
